For the longest time now, I have been moving and living with my lunar cycle. This also means I have been utilising lunar and solar energy on a physical, emotional and spiritual level. This has taught me to embrace my potential, understand my purpose and levels of productivity, emotional furling and rediscovering my feminine and masculine. I wanted to share a few tips and rituals that may help you bathe in the full moon energy.
These are suggested practices and you're always free to pick and choose the practices that work best for you versus those that don't. This is all about doing what makes us feel good, and what's going to get us connected on a deeper level with ourselves and the Divine.
Create a Sacred Space
Creating a sacred space is a crucial part of developing any self-care routine. When we do things with intention, we're left feeling replenished and confident, instead of hectic & chaotic. So even by making a small amount of time for ritual and self-care. we feel like we actually have MORE time.
When you have a space that embodies that sense of peace and ease in your home, you’re reminded to make these virtues a part of your everyday life. So that even when the going gets rough, you’ll have a sanctuary to help you reset and find your center.
What is a sacred space?
The word “sacred” is used here to reference a connection to our inner space of peace and love and to your Divine Source.
Questions to ask yourself to clarify your intentions:
What do you want this space to help you with?
What outcomes are you looking for?
Are there any obstacles you’re currently trying to overcome?
Take a few moments and journal on these. These will all be super helpful when it comes time to build your space. Maybe you want to have a place where you can go and destress from a long day. Maybe you’d rather your space help you feel energized and ready to take on the day. You might want a space for quiet reflection and meditation – or perhaps an altar for gratitude and celebration of life.
What to add to your sacred space?
Bring in ANY colours, images, scents, or textures you like. Return to your journal entries from the beginning. What did you want this space to help you with? Take your responses and put them in a tangible form. There’s no right or wrong way to do this. Go off of your intuition. Get creative. Think outside of the box.
What objects do you own that feel sacred to you? Are there any images or items that make your heart well up with a feeling of gratitude? What scent makes you smile and helps you relax?

Ritual Practices
Now it's time for your ritual practices. There are lots of options for you here, these are just a few. As you get deeper in your studies, you'll learn which rituals are best suited for each specific Full Moon. The practices listed here are all-around good practices for any Full Moon.
Creating a vision board: The energy of a Full Moon is great to help you get focused on what you want to accomplish, and putting that in a visual form is super creative and fun!
Journaling for your higher self: Your highest self is the part of you that stands unwavering by the stresses of modern-day life. It’s the awareness that rests behind all your thoughts, worries & attachments. Your highest self is where your physical body meets the spiritual realm. It is the part of you that is at peace and eternal. Connecting with and visualizing our highest selves is one of the noblest journeys we can embark on.
Burning and Releasing Ritual: A Full Moon is all about illuminating things that we're ready to let go of. These can be bad habits, negative thought patterns or circumstances that are no longer serving you. To begin, grab a piece of paper, a pen, a fire-resistant container, and a lighter or a match Optional additions: crystals of your choice and / or incense.
Set yourself up in a sacred space: remove distractions, wear comfortable clothes, dim the lights & light some incense. Take a moment to close your eyes and center yourself in your space. Take three deep breaths, relax your body, and begin to quiet your mind. Set a timer for 10 minutes, and taking your piece of paper, allow yourself to write out the ways you believe you aren't good enough, or the reasons why you don't deserve your dream life. Allow yourself to feel the emotions tied to each limitation you write down.
Be sure to stop when the timer is up. Then, closing your eyes and dropping into meditation, see if you can take the seat of the observer - distancing yourself from these emotions and feelings. Allow them to have their space, but remind yourself that these attributes are NOT innately true to you and that you have the ability to release them.
Taking your lighter, gently fold up the piece of paper and light it on fire. Drop it into the bowl, allowing it to burn out completely. Watch as the fire consumes your paper, and visualize all those things you're releasing burn away as well. Close your eyes and take three deep breaths. you can use these words, of others that feel natural and empowering to you.
With the fires of transformation, I release
these obstacles to the Divine.
I vow to honour my True Self that is
powerful, insightful, and wise.
I allow my True Self and Spirit to guide me
towards my highest good.
I thank feminine moon and masculine sun,
keeping me balanced with my work.
And so it is. And so it is. And so it is.
Give yourself time to slowly come out of this ritual space. Drinking water, and being gentle with yourself.
Discard the ashes by burying them or depositing them into a body of water.
